Advising

First-year advising

If you are coming to Hope as a first-year student, your advisor is your First Year Seminar (FYS) professor. You maydeclare a major第一学期结束后随时都可以。Once you have declared a major, you’ll be assigned an advisor within that academic department.

Major advising

If you have declared a major, your primary advisor will be a faculty member within that academic department. If you have two or more majors, your primary advisor will be assigned to you based on your first major. You may also meet with additional major/minor advisors for help choosing classes, learning more about professions, etc., but they will not be assigned to you as a primary advisor.

Transfer advising
