CDI Events

Diversity Lecture Series

TheDiversity Lectures Seriesfeatures distinguished leaders and experts in diversity and inclusion, with a focus on research and scholarship (five per year).

Step2Success Pre-Orientation Program

Step2Succes Pre-orientation Program— Incoming students of color and their families arrive two days early to gain a jump start on the academic experience, establish networks of support and develop a greater sense of community during their transition to Hope College.

Community Conversations

Community Conversationsare opportunities for the Hope community to discuss and engage in relevant interdisciplinary topics on diversity, equity and inclusion. These conversations are aimed to create greater awareness about societal issues that impact the success of students.

Mentoring

Provide one-on-one and group mentoring opportunities for students, both formally and informally. This includes a network of professional community leaders who volunteer their time, expertise, experience and networks to support the growth and success of students.

Partnership with Grand Rapids African American Health Institute

This program is designed to create pathways to careers in healthcare for minority students.

Diversity Institute
