Greg Mitchell joined the Hope College kinesiology faculty in 2014 after teaching at the high school level for 25 years, split between teaching English and physical education. He leverages this extensive experience in his work with Hope students who are planning to enter the education profession, and takes great joy in building relationships with students and helping them along their journey at Hope.

Professor Mitchell teaches Basic Methods of Teaching Physical Education and the workout portion of two additional courses — Health Dynamics, and Conditioning & Weight Training.

He also ishead coachof the men’s basketball team. He oversees the entire program, recruits outstanding potential student/athletes and handles daily responsibilities that uphold and build on Hope’s rich championship tradition.

Outside the college

米切尔教授娶了迪娜·祖肖尔88年的米切尔。他们有四个孩子，17年的Aleah, 18年的Quincie, 19年的Jalynn和Bryson。当他不在教学和教练的时候，他喜欢家庭聚会，花时间在海滩上，参加希望体育赛事和各种健身活动。他对现场音乐也很欣赏。米切尔夫妇参加荷兰的恩格迪教堂，并真正认同那里的礼拜服务的欢迎环境和乐观的能量。

他认为担任校园学生的导师意义重大，并为2018年有机会与13名“希望”学生运动员和其他三名“希望”领导人通过学院的SEED项目(体育福音装备门徒)前往加纳传教感到幸运。
