Barbara Miller started working at Hope in July 1989 as the campus visit coordinator, but for the past 16 years, she has worked as an admissions representative. She’s worked with students from a variety of states, and currently works with international students and home school students. In addition to working with students and families, she coordinates many of Hope’s Visit Day programs and the Visit and Events team, along with other administrative duties.

For the last eight years, she has volunteered with Latin American United for Progress. She is part of a team that coordinates the Hispanic Youth Leadership Conference held each February.

Why I love Hope

Barbara knows that Hope is a place of incredible community. It's a place with lots of people who care and encourage, and it offers rich opportunities for growth in various ways. The first time she visited the college, she knew she wanted to be part of the awesome community. Back then, she knew it was a place she could grow and thrive, something she’s still doing many years later.

She has great memories from her time here as a student. These include great friendships from the Philadelphia semester, rapelling the Grand Canyon during an off-campus May term, hanging out with friends on campus and at the beach and moments from everyday life on campus.

She likes to invest in others the way people at Hope invested in her while she was a student.

Outside the college
